Happy International Women’s Day! In celebration of this day, we have spoken to our diverse team at White Digital, a digital marketing and web design agency, to find out what international women’s day means to them and how White Digital has contributed to inclusion.
Our main ethos at White Digital is that everyone should have equal opportunities, regardless of gender, and I am proud to work for a company that shares this vision.
All of the women within our office agreed that their experience whilst working at White Digital has been vastly different to previous offices and we collectively feel heard, motivated and seen within our roles.
One of our team members shared their experience, stating “At White Digital I have never been overlooked because of my gender, I am valued, included, and respected in my work! In previous roles, I have come up against not having my questions answered, having my contributions/ideas stolen and the best one….being told to smile! White Digital has supported me during maternity leave and my return to work perfectly, couldn’t ask for a more supportive, collaborative workplace.”
Unfortunately, not all companies value their female employees as much as White Digital does. Another team member shared their experience, saying “Well, previously to this job I have worked in multi-million dollar American companies for the past decade and the main difference is that here I have a voice, I am heard, I have the ability to effect change and have learned more here in the last year, and been provided more opportunity to learn than I have in the previous 10 years before.”
My own personal experience of working within the corporate world has been mixed, with an abundance of condescending managers, from telling me that I am not ‘vocal’ enough in my role and silencing me in meetings, to informing me that ‘period pain is not a real excuse to be off work’. However, that all changed when I started my role at White Digital, in just under a year, I have been able to flourish within my role as we are treated as equals rather than numbers.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we recognise the struggles and barriers that women have faced throughout history and still face today. However, we also celebrate the progress that has been made and the amazing accomplishments of women everywhere. With all this said, it’s essential to continue advocating for gender equality and to uplift and empower women in all aspects of life.
We believe that celebrating International Women’s Day is not only about recognising the incredible achievements of women throughout history but also about recognising the work that still needs to be done. Women still face numerous challenges in the workplace and in society as a whole. We believe that it’s essential to continue advocating for gender equality and to uplift and empower women in all aspects of life.
At White Digital, we make it a priority to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all of our employees. Believing that everyone should have a voice and be heard, regardless of gender. We also make sure to provide opportunities for growth and learning, as our team members previously mentioned.
It is also essential to recognise and uplift the accomplishments of women in our industry. There are numerous incredible women in digital marketing and web design, and we’re proud to work alongside many of them. If you want to find out more about the day’s history, make sure to check out the official International Women’s Day website for more information.
On this International Women’s Day, we encourage everyone to uplift and empower the women in their lives and to continue advocating for gender equality. Together, we can create a more just and equitable world for women everywhere.
